What information do you collect?

Our website uses Google Analytics to collect visitor data and analyze traffic on our website. This information helps us understand visitor interests and helps us improve our website. When you visit our site, the pages that you want to see and a short text file called a cookie are downloaded to your browser. A cookie is used to store small amounts of information, for example, to let us know if you are a new or returning visitor. This information is collected for traffic analysis only. Why do you collect this information?

What about comments and your mailing list?

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you decide to join our mailing list so we can send you information about our concert schedule, tours, promotions and new releases, this information is gathered by a service we use called MailChimp. We keep this mailing list private and will never sell or share your information with any 3rd parties. Additionally, there is a link on every email we send giving you the opportunity to remove yourself from our list if you change your mind.

How about purchases I make from your shop?

We will never sell or distribute your information to anyone. The only reason we will use your email address is to contact you for questions or other information about your order and with occasional announcements regarding Roy Schneider Music and merchandise only (you may opt out of receiving these announcements as well). We will use your billing and mailing information only to process your order.

What if I create an account on your website?

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

What about embedded content from other websites?

Content on this website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, music players, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website.

How long do you retain my data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you register on our website, we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights do I have over my data?

If you have an account on this website, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
